Within the framework of the last IMF/WB annual meetings, CEPR organized the seminar "Bank of the South: An Alternative to the IMF and World Bank" with Rodrigo Cabezas, Minister of Finance in Venezuela and Gustavo Guzman, Ambassador of Bolivia to the United States and Mark Weibrot, director of CEPR.

On the morning of Saturday 20th., CSOs working around debt issues met at Jubilee USA headquarters in Washington D.C. The participants were Eurodad, Latindadd, Jubilee USA, Jubilee Norway, Jubilee South, Jubilee Germany, Jubilee Zambia and Center of Concern, among others.

On October 22nd, the Bank Information Center and Crude Accountability organized a very successful roundtable event entitled “Sharing Experiences: Local Responses to Problematic IFC-funded projects in the former Soviet Union”.

The symposium on access to health and education was coorganized by Oxfam and the World Bank. It consisted of a panel of five people: two from the Bank and three who were representing CSOs. Each of the panelists gave a short (sometimes not so short) presentations on their perspectives of the trends in access to health and education over recent years.
